Situated off the coast of Mahina, on the coast North East from Tahiti, very close to the Venus Point, Motu Martin (Motu 'Au in Tahitian) is a small islet that attracts water sports enthusiasts. This spot, still preserved, has become a must-see for lovers of wind sports. Kitesurf, wingfoil, windsurf or, supfoil : there are many disciplines and the conditions are ideal.

An exceptional natural setting
Motu Martin is located near the Hitimahana beach. It is surrounded by a deep blue lagoon, protected by the coral reefThe wind blows there regularly, especially between May and OctoberThis period corresponds to the dry season, with constant trade winds coming from the east-southeast.

Tahitian riders are familiar with Motu Martin. It is a frequent starting point for downwind sessions. We often start from the Mahina beach or mouth of the Papenoo, to reach Motu Martin by gliding on the trade winds.
Local schools, such as the Tahiti Kite & Wing School, organize training courses and competitions there. In August 2024, the Monster Energy Wind Festival brought together dozens of enthusiasts. On the program: freestyle, course, big air et technical tests in kite, wing et supfoil.
To reach Motu Martin, several options are available to you. paddle boarding, boat trip or even in swimming for the more athletic. The crossing from the Hitimahana beach takes less than 10 minutes. It is advisable to leave accompanied, especially if the wind is strong.
