Tahua Motu Ovini Park was inaugurated on Sunday, February 19, 2023. While the north coast of Tahiti has enjoyed the Aorai Tini Hau Park since the end of 2018 , the south of the capital had been lagging behind. For the past two years, it has finally caught up thanks to this green space , which Oscar Temaru , mayor of Faa'a, had been advocating for several years . At its 30,000 m² along the coastline, it is even larger than its illustrious northern neighbor. At the center of the park stands an imposing 600 m² fare pote (traditional Polynesian hut ), unique in its kind. In fact, it is the largest  in the entire Pacific. Indeed, at its summit is an opening  representing a compass  , a reminder of the importance of the stars  for navigation by Polynesian navigators of old. 210 coconut palms and 80 other trees , including several fruit trees, enhance the park for the enjoyment of visitors.
