This site, developed in 2007 , offers an immersive experience in a lush landscape composed of pools , streams , waterfalls , and diverse tropical vegetation.

The Vaipahi Water Gardens cover more than one hectare and are home to over 75 plant species , including rare aquatic plants and exotic flowers . Furthermore, the site is crisscrossed by pathways punctuated by small bridges , allowing visitors to discover this unique biodiversity.

One of the garden's main attractions is the Vaipahi waterfall , which adds a touch of serenity to the whole setting. In addition, visitors can also take three hiking trails to explore the mountainous part of the site and appreciate the diversity of the local flora. In fact, I'm pleased to point out that all of Tahiti's natural tourist sites are remarkably well-equipped and free of charge . And it must be said that this is far from being the case everywhere in the world.

Little Tahiti Practical Tips for a Successful Visit

• Best period The gardens are open year-round. While the flowers are more abundant between November and April, May to October is the best time to enjoy a dry walk.
• Recommended equipment : Bring comfortable walking shoes (if you plan to hike the trails) and water. Also, keep your cell phone battery charged as there are lots of photos to take. Finally, mosquito repellent, a hat, and sunscreen are recommended for sensitive individuals.
• Respect for the place : being a sacred site, it is important to respect nature and the legends associated with it.

And to make the most of your trip to Mataiea, I recommend a visit to the Vaima spring . Much less known to tourists and very close by, a dip in its healing waters will do you a world of good. Well-being and wonder guaranteed . In fact, I go there as often as I can 😍
