Tahiti, a dream island in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, is renowned for its black sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush mountains. Among its many treasures, the Taravao Plateau lookout offers a unique experience, blending natural beauty with the island's cultural history.
A breathtaking panorama
Located in Taiarapu East, the Taravao belvedere is a panoramic site offering breathtaking views of Tahiti Nui and Tahiti Iti. Accessible by car, this viewpoint is compared to the New Zealand countryside with its wide open spaces, where you can observe cows and horses roaming free.
The view is superb!

A connection with nature
The Taravao Plateau is a place where nature reigns supreme. Visitors can stroll through the pastures, stop for a picnic, or simply admire the scenery. The lookout itself is located on a farm, highlighting the importance of agriculture in the region. The temperature is cooler there since we are at almost 600 meters above sea level.
In addition to the view, the Taravao lookout is a starting point for hikes. A trail connects the lookout to a second viewpoint, offering another perspective on the Isthmus of Taravao. Visitors can also find a small pond filled with water lilies, which serves as a resting area for horses and wild ducks. In addition, Taravao is also the PK 0 of the peninsula. Teahupoo and tautira are only a few minutes away. Take the opportunity to go there. It's worth the detour.
An accessible and welcoming site
The lookout is wheelchair accessible with assistance, allowing everyone to enjoy the view. With a picnic area and nearby parking, the site is perfect for a day out with family or friends.
Ultimately
The Taravao Plateau Lookout is a place where the tranquility and beauty of Tahiti meet. Whether hiking, relaxing, or admiring the sunset, this site offers an unforgettable experience for all who visit. It's a powerful reminder of the majesty of nature and the importance of preserving it for future generations.
