A site steeped in spirituality and legends
Beyond its botanical richness, Vaipahi is a sacred place, full of history and spirituality. In the past, it served ceremonies of purification and passage of souls, practiced by the Teva clan. According to oral tradition, the souls of the deceased began an initiatory journey through the living waters of the site. And all thisguided by the high priestess Te'ura-i-Hāmano.
So, each basin et each waterfall represented a symbolic step on the path towards spiritual rebirth (9 stages will be explained to you during your visit on information panels). This sacred route opened the way to Rohotu-No'ano'a, legendary paradise described as a place of Peace and eternal serenity. Needless to say, what we call the mana in fenua will definitely invade you if you are sensitive to this kind of energy. Let yourself go, breathe deeply. That's it. You're there 😍
On Vaipahi Water Gardens are open every day and free access, offering visitors an immersive experience in the heart of Polynesian nature. In addition, the site is equipped with amenities such as public toilets and free parkingThis makes it much easier to welcome visitors. In this regard, I am happy to point out that all of Tahiti's natural tourist sites are remarkably well-equipped and freeAnd it must be recognized that this is far from being the case everywhere in the world.
In short, whether it is for a family walk, a contemplative pause or an cultural discovery, this peaceful place embodies theharmony between nature and Polynesian traditions.
