A gourmet haven in the heart of Paea
Located in Paea, on the west coast of Tahiti, TKT PANDA PAEA has established itself as one of the most popular Chinese restaurants on the island. Easily accessible, situated at PK 24 on the mountainside, the restaurant attracts both regulars and visitors looking for a tasty, quick, and generous meal. With its authentic Chinese cuisine , friendly atmosphere , and efficient service , TKT PANDA PAEA has become a true haven for lovers of maa tinito (a traditional Tahitian dish ), stir-fried dishes , and Asian specialties with a Polynesian twist.
A well-established establishment in Paea
TKT PANDA PAEA is located at PK 24, Chapman easement, mountain side . This location makes it a convenient address for residents of Paea , but also for people passing through the west coast of Tahiti.
Nearby, you'll find several points of interest, including local shops and services , making it an ideal stop for a quick lunch or a family dinner . The restaurant is also close to residential areas, which explains its popularity with locals. Even though I live 12 kilometers away, I don't hesitate for a second to make the trip to enjoy a good Chinese meal. That's actually how I discovered TKT Panda Paea: somewhat by chance, intrigued by the opening of this new restaurant at the end of June 2025. I went out of curiosity… and, charmed by this first experience, I went back so I could tell you about it.
We are definitely in a Chinese restaurant
Authentic and popular Chinese cuisine
According to Chefs de Tahiti, TKT PANDA offers Asian cuisine , with a particular emphasis on maa tinito ( a type of fish stew ), stir-fries , and traditional Chinese specialties . The portions are extremely generous , the flavors well-balanced , and the recipes adhere to the principles of Chinese cuisine while sometimes incorporating a local touch. Indeed, one can also enjoy the famous raw fish in coconut milk , one of Tahiti's iconic dishes.
The atmosphere: a blend of friendliness and efficiency
Every time I visit, I rediscover that lively atmosphere that gives the restaurant its charm: tables filling up quickly, service moving at a good pace, dishes arriving piping hot… all in a warm , simple , and unpretentious atmosphere . This is precisely what makes the place so appealing, and why it's so popular with both young people and families.
I've noticed that this restaurant attracts a diverse clientele:
Tahitian families,
workers on their lunch break
couples in the evening
lovers of traditional Chinese cuisine.
The atmosphere is relaxed , the service is fast , and the welcome is warm , true to the Polynesian spirit.
Cool dining room at lunchtime, pleasant terrace in the evening
We can choose to eat inside, in air-conditioned room Very pleasant. In fact, it's a real plus. especially at midday when the heat is intense. But the restaurant also offers a small terrace with about eight tables. And le soir, when the air cools downIt's a really nice option for enjoying a meal outdoors.

The menu: Chinese specialties popular in Tahiti
After tasting several dishes during my visits, I can now share with you those that have become my favorites:
Typical dishes of Chinese cuisine
Stuffed pepper and eggplant duo
Honey-crusted chicken
Ginger Beef
Pork in oyster sauce
Salt-coated goats
Chao men special
Maa tinito , a must-try of Sino-Tahitian cuisine
Generous portions and affordable prices
The cherry on top of the coconut is that the portions are very generous, often sufficient for two people, which makes it a economical option for families. And to be honest, when I have lunch there, I often end up finishing my meal... in the evening at home.
